It’s not in print anymore, but you should be able to pick up a copy used. It’s very informative and has over 2,000 gorgeous pictures. This book was produced in 1999 and covers every Star Wars action figure, vehicle, and playset produced from 1977 – 1997. If you are a fan of the vintage Star Wars figures, then I highly recommend Star Wars: The Action Figure Archive. I’m pretty impressed with myself for not losing the tiny pieces all these years (i.e. It was friggin’ huge and provided hours of entertainment and adventures.

The coolest of my remaining vehicles and playsets has to be the Death Star Space Station. They used the same mold with white plastic to create the Hoth Ice Planet Adventure Set and the Rebel Command Center Adventure Set. Interestingly, the base from the Land of the Jawas Action Playset below was reused two more times by Kenner. I used to have the Creature Cantina Action Playset, but I must have pitched it at some point. If memory serves, the really jaundiced Stormtrooper was the victim of a sandbox Sarlacc pit.īelow you’ll find my remaining vehicles and playsets. For the photo below I was too lazy to match each and every gun with the appropriate figure (though I can probably still do it from memory), so the weapons are all in one big pile. My step-son also has about 50 of the Star Wars Galactic Heroes figures which are lots of fun and super cute. I’ve got about 50 of those figures, but I’m not going to display them here since they’re fairly recent by comparison. Primarily I focused on figures that didn’t have a corresponding toy in the original Kenner line (like Biggs and the Sandtrooper). In the late 1990s I started buying some of the newer Star Wars figures. I picked up quite a few of the Return of the Jedi figures, but that was about the time I started losing interest in the toys. Growing up I had every Star Wars action figure released through The Empire Strikes Back. This past weekend I went up in the attic and dug out my vintage Star Wars action figures. With all this Star Wars in my brain, I thought I’d do a week of posts displaying some of my Star Wars collection – we’ll call it my Star Wars Resume. And I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Two True Freaks Monthly Monday Star Wars podcasts. I’ve been reading recent issues of Dark Horse’s Star Wars Legacy comic. I’m nearly finished with the ninth novel in the Star Wars: Legacy of the Force series. Seems like I’ve been firmly in the Star Wars spin cycle for a while now.

My fanaticism normally cycles like a washing machine through: comics, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, and then starts over again with comics. Andor will debut its first three episodes on September 21, 2022.I’ve had Star Wars on the brain lately. Plus, we even see Forest Whitaker's fan-favorite Saw Gerrera appear in the trailer, who is surely one of many returning friends Andor will bring back to surprise us. We glimpse Cassian Andor behind the wheel of a ship, not looking as fly as Mando and Grogu, of course, but formidable nonetheless. The footage shows the Empire not-so-slowly asserting its dominance in the galaxy. The new preview for Andor, which you can view below, promises a thrilling look at the Resistance in its early stages. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.
RESUME STAR WARS ACTION FIGURE SERIES
The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. Before we get to Andor's extended trailer, which just dropped, check out Disney's official plot description for the series, to get you up to speed: Andor will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. (You want a prequel for your prequel? Star Warshas your back.) The series will follow Diego Luna's Cassian Andor, a fan-favorite hero who plays a serious role as a leader and a pilot in Rogue One-a film we won't spoil here, just in case you want to watch Andor and Rogue One in chronological order, someday. Reddit could breath a sigh of relief, for once.Īlways one to lean into something its audience mildly approves of, Disney+ ordered two, 12-episode-long seasons of Andor, which will serve as a prequel to Rogue One. say much? Which, as you may very well know, means that they liked it. Faithful followers of the galaxy far, far away didn't. Something incredible happened when fans saw Rogue One: A Star Wars Storyback in 2016, which showed how a bunch of rebels stole the plans for the Death Star.
